Better than ever: Sandro Hit has
started a new era in the dressage scene and is already writing sporting and
breeding history
Our number one: National Young Horse Champion — Young Dressage World Champion
— unique producer performance
Sandro Hit progeny are breaking all price-records, are annually winning
championships and are Approval Champions
His first offspring are already successful at World Cup level
From the 2006 Oldenburger premium lot alone, our “number one” was completely
dominant with four direct sons reaching top prices of € 450.000 and two
further nephews, one of them the champion stallion. His unique performance as a
producer is demonstrated once again with two highly scored national champions,
putting the number of championship title-holders which he has produced up to
seven. Silberaster was also distinguished as Oldenburger champion mare, Sir
Donnerhall was reserve champion. The Sandro Hit son Salieri has been triumphant
at World Cup level with Victoria Max-Theurer. Besides that he has produced an
armada of highly successful up and coming successful young horses.
Himself a national champion and world champion, Sandro Hit is out of the
brilliant elite brood mare Loretta, she produced the Reserve World Champion and
Reserve German Young Horse Champion Diamond Hit and the highly elegant 1c
premium stallion Royal Hit. Her sire Ramino was Stallion Performance Test
Champion and later on five times Italian Champion. Welt As from the third
generation is one of the most influential producers over the last years, amongst
others he sired Olympic gold medallist Bonfire ridden by Anky van Grunsven.
Sandro Hit is as beautiful as an English engraving, a genial feather-light
movement with brilliant results as a producer. He has yet to meet his match.

The
Oldenburg juvenile stallion and main premium winner Sandro Song had his
debut in 1995 with his first two sons Sandro Hit and Securus at an
Oldenburg approval where they both gained their approval. In the
meantime, Sandro Song has presented further approval progeny. The dam
Loretta was mated with Don Schufro to produce the premièred stallion
son Diamond Hit. The damsire Ramino was champion of the 1983 stallion
performance test in Adelheidsdorf. He was on active stud duty in Cappeln
from 1983 to 1987 whilst at the same time maintaining an impressive
showjumping career with Melanie Koetter. He won the Junior European
Championships team gold with the “amazon” in 1987, before really
outing himself internationally with Loris Pujatti under the Italian
flag. Between 1989 and 1995 he was Italian champion five times. Ramino
has preponderantly developed to a damsire of excellent mares and
stallions. The powerful jumping stallion Gio Granno, the 1997 approval
winner Ronaldo, his full-brother the stallion performance test winner
and federal championship finalist Rubin Star N, as well as the 1996
vice-champion approvals stallion performance test winner; double state
champion and two-time federal championship finalist Sergeant Pepper have
him as their damsire. Next to no other stallion bearing the Oldenburg
brand caused such a stir during the 1980's and 1990's as Lassie’s sire
Welt As. The cream of Welt As’s crop on the international stage are in
particular, his sons starting under the Dutch flag, Leroy Borwn 3 / Wout
Jan van der Schans on the course and Bonfire / Anky van Grunsven in the
dressage arena. Sandro Hit’s maternal bloodline moreover produced a
number of Vechta auction horses and foals.
Sandro
Hit absolved his stallion performance test in Medingen in 1997 and in
1999 he became federal champion six-year old dressage horses as well as
world champion juvenile horse in Arnheim. He has meanwhile been trained
up to advanced class.
Right
from the outset, Sandro Hit set standards not only in sport, but also in
breeding. His first crops of foals are convincing by their exceptionally
aesthetic imprint of type as well as their outstanding motions. His son
Sandrit was the 1999 approval winner in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, while
Sommerhit was runner-up in Berlin-Brandenburg and Sandro Ace became
vice-champion in Oldenburg. Sunny Boy in turn, was awarded a premium in
Oldenburg, whereas Sommeliere likewise was approved in Oldenburger in
1999. In the year 2000, Sandro Hit made the headlines once more: His
Brandenburg bred daughter Poetin won the Federal Championship of three
year old mares and geldings under Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen. A
number of his offspring attained peak prices at different German auction
sites, including his daughter Starlet, who at DM 140,000 was the top lot
of the collection of broodmares at the 2000 Vechta spring auction. On
top of that, two Sandro Hit progeny were awarded the desired status
“approved” at the Oldenburg approval, as well as at the NRW
approvals. In 2001 he sired the Federal champion and two vice champions.
He currently has nine licensed sons and 2 state premium mares to his
name.

Sandro Hit Multiplicity: Ein Hit und Viele Voltreffer
"Le
Moment Supreme" of the 2004 Althengst Parade in Vechta was the
appearance of the Sandro Hit offspring, concluded by a royal appearance
of his grand majesty Sandro Hit.
One by one announcer Jan Toenjes welcomed the Sandro Hit progeny into
the arena: Sagnol (Sandro Hit x Landadel), San Remo (Sandro Hit x
Donnerhall), Show Star (Sandro Hit x Feinbrand), Smetana (Sunny Boy x
Donnerschwee), Sir Wilson (Sandro Hit x Canaster) and Sandro King
(Sandro Hit x Calypso I) appeared. It became a multiplicity of Sandro
Hit babies. Hardly knowing where to look first and which horse to keep
an eye on, this Sandro Hit parade was a surreal experience.
Definitely standing out in the crowd was Gestut Wiesenhof's Sandro
King, a massive dark bay-blackish dressage horse with much length in his
neck and back without being too long.
Those
who claim that Sandro Hits can not do the FEI movements will be proved
wrong in the future. Sandro King showed remarkable potential for the
highest collection in trot and canter.
Worth mentioning is that rider Fie Skarsoe is one of the few riders
in Germany (and the world) who has the "Lisa Wilcox diva glow"
to her. Always smiling and shining on her horses, Skarsoe is an anchor
figure for the promotion of the Wiesenhof stallions.
The 2004 Althengst Parade closed with a breath taking finale in which
Sir Donnerhall (Sandro Hit x Donnerhall) and his sire Sandro Hit (Sandro
Song x Ramino) appeared in the ring while dramatic church music playing.
Team
P.S.I./Paul Schockemohle performed the same act in February 2004 on the
Schockemohle Hengstvorfuhrung, where Sandro Hit and Poetin did a pas de
deux.
Sir Donnerhall placed third in the premium ring at the 2003 Oldenburg
Stallion Licensing, but he has become the most successful 3-year old
breeding stallion for Oldenburg, covering more than 500 mares last year.
In Vechta, Sir Donnerhall was only in the spotlight for five minutes,
because as soon as Sandro Hit entered the ring, all eyes turned to this
grand foundation sire His "little" son immediately fell into
Sandro Hit's shade.
Sandro
Hit's appearance at the Vechta Althengst Parade was the cherry on the
cake. Since the black stallion's major 1999 world break through --
winning the World Young Horse Championships and the Bundeschampionate --
the black was hardly seen in public. In 2000 he won a couple of M-level
classes, but that was it. From then on, Sandro Hit's life only meant one
thing: breeding.
When you visit Paul
Schockemohle's barn in Muhlen, Germany, you will find Sandro Hit
covered in a layer of dust in a dirty stall in a dirty, dusty stable
standing there with twenty other world class breeding stallions. Talk
about an anti-climax. This king deserves a royal box, airy and spacey,
layered with gold.
Fortunately, Sandro Hit's rider Dr. Ulf Möller brought the best out
him again. The stallion looked shiny and fit and it was a true joy to
see this lovely star in the show ring once again, bringing back memories
of the glorious days in Arnhem, where Sandro Hit stole the hearts of
crowd by winning the World Championships.

Sandro Hit: Example of the Perfect Dressage Horse
No
other horse distinguished himself in a more prominent way than Sandro
Hit. Undisputed best equine of the whole 1999 World Championships for
Young Dressage Horses was Sandro Hit. "He's definitely is an
exceptional horse and I feel honored to have the opportunity to ride
him," rider Dr. Ulf Möller stated. Sandro Hit is a stallion where
talking about wouldn't come to an end. Either if one discusses his
perfect conformation or his three powerful, elastic, balanced basic
gaits or even his superb potential to become an international star;
Sandro Hit is just an example of the perfect dressage horse.
The black Oldenburger stallion by Sandro Song x Ramino became the
favorite of the audience and while entering and leaving the arena the
combination received an enormous amount of clapping and cheering.
Sometimes even tears appeared in some people's eyes when seeing Sandro
Hit parade around the ring. Winning every class with the sky high notes
of 9.3, 9.7 and 85.94 in the six year old division Sandro Hit created a
striking distance with number two Del Piero. Rider Dr. Ulf Möller,
originally a veterinarian, has only been riding the licensed black
stallion for half a year.
Möller works for Ullrich Kasselmann and Sandro Hit's owner Paul
Schockemöle, who organizes the prestigous PSI-auctions in Ankum,
Germany. Negiotations about the sale of Sandro Hit to the United States
were already started before the Championships even began. Möller will
be riding Sandro Hit until after the Bundeschampionate and then Europe
is probably destined to see the best young dressage horse leave the
continent to start a new career in the US.

2007:
CRYOZOOTECH news in the field of equine cloning
Press
release, August 22nd, 2007
CRYOZOOTECH
is happy to announce the birth of the clone of 2003 dressage world
champion POETIN 2, a Brandeburg mare that died prematurely in 2005. Now
CRYOZOOTECH enters the dressage world. This achievement illustrates the
use of the cloning technique for genetic safeguarding.
The first pregnancies from cloned horses have been obtained:
PIERAZ-CRYOZOOTECH-STALLION, the first clone of a gelded champion horse,
has covered Dziupla, a well known endurance mare from Vialaret farm: a
foal is expected in 2008. Simultaneously Prométéa, a research pony
mare and the first horse clone to be born, is also pregnant, due to foal
in 2008.
POETIN
2 was born in 1997. This Brandeburg mare has an interesting life story:
POETIN 2, from Sandro Hit and Poesie by Brentano, was promised to a
bright future: she won the German championship and the world
championship in dressage for young horses, with so far unequalled grades
(she got a 10/10 for her trotting performance!). She was sold € 2.5
million in 2003 to an ING Bank / van der Zwan farm (Netherlands)
consortium. Xavier Marie acquired her in 2005 after the consortium had
broken up. Unfortunately, when she reached his place, POETIN 2 had acute
laminitis from which she did not recover. She was euthanised in December
2005. Knowing of CRYOZOOTECH's work for genetic preservation, Xavier
Marie asked for her cells to be collected beforehand, with the objective
in mind to get a replacement for his new studfarm HARAS DE HUS. POETIN's
clone was born on March 30th, 2007. Now she frolics in paddocks of the
Haras de Hus near Nantes on the west coast of France. This illustrates
how cloning can be used to prevent exceptional genetics from being lost! |
