Origin:
His sire Hohenstein
I, whose younger full-brother Hohenstein
II belongs to the siring elite in
Hungary
has has
one success after the other in his still quite young siring career. He was
premium stallion of the 1993 approvals in Neumuenster,
vice-champion of the 1994 stallion approval test, winner of the 1995 Cologne Trakehner
championship as well as third at the national championship in Warendorf
in the same year. In 1996, he was awarded the distinction of "elite
stallion contender" by the Trakehner
Association. As a six year old, he had several wins in intermediate dressage
competitions. His dam Carina had earlier presented the approved dressage
stallion DavisCup, the erstwhile federal champion Dacapo
(both by Duerkheim) and the sports horse Top Gun (by
Grosso Z). From the earlier generations of his
genealogical tree, Harvard
carries a considerable amount of specialist blood in his veins via the highly
esteemed TB Cardinal xx, who sired numerous
outstanding dressage horses (i.a.
Colorado
17, M.Theodoresca)
and the Trakehener Ortelsburg.
His maternal line moreover produced the stallion Algier,
Gardeoffizier and Winnetou.
